Watching the big game with family and friends at home is always a good time. Add a boat, sun, awesome bands and crazy fans into the mix and you get the best and hardest rocking Super Bowl party around.
You can never have too much Ship Rocked, and based on the number of people that booked the pre-party, I think most would agree. Chevelle got the ball rolling with their first and only set of the cruise. The trio played through a nonstop string of hits like "Hats off to the Bull", "Send The Pain Below", "Jars", and "Vitamin R". If the band were testing the waters to see if they could handle a full cruise I think it's safe to say they'll be back.
The boat set sail to cruise around the harbor just before game time. Zakk Wylde brought out his guitar for an incredible performance of the National Anthem, a perfect start to the game. When half time came the screens on the deck shut off for Wilson's half time show. In fitting fashion, singer Chad Wilson walked out in a full marching band uniform and bass drum. Cheerleaders joined the band on stage for a song, and mountains of confetti rained down to close out the energetic fuckery filled set.
When the game came to an end Sevendust were sure to keep the entertainment coming, performing their first of three sets. Frontman Lajon Witherspoon gave it his all from start to finish, interacting with the crowd and showing why Sevendust have become the "house band" of Ship Rocked. "Black", "Splinter", and "Decay" kept everyone moving throughout the night.
The consensus at the end of the night was unanimous--with the exception of some disgruntled Seahawks fans--the pre-party was a huge success.
