The biggest rock festival to hit the Carolinas returns this year on May 2nd and 3rd at the Rock City Campgrounds at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, NC. For the past four years Rebels from all around traveled to witness this ever-growing event, each year getting better and better than the year before. This year marks the fifth aniversary of the festival, but doesn't go without new and exciting events.
But before we get into that, lets discuss the main aspect that draws the crowds--the lineup! This year plays host to numerous new and veteran names in rock. Day 1 headliners include Korn, Marilyn Manson, and Rise Against. Rise Against were unfortunately rained out at the festival in 2013 so it's exciting to see them back on the lineup! Riding the release of his most recent album, this is Marilyn Manson's first appearance on at Rebellion so I'm sure Rebels are anticipating what he has to bring to the show. Korn are veterans to the Rebellion stage, but they are doing something a little different this year--they will be playing their debut album in its entirety during their set. This is any Korn fans dream so be sure to but tickets so you can witness this event! Other names gracing the stage on Saturday include Papa Roach, Cheap Trick, Holleywood Undead, Chevelle, Of Mice and Men, Periphery, Islander, and more. Day 2 continues to bring the rock with headliners Slipknot, Godsmack, and Slayer. Corey Taylor graced the Rebellion stage the first year with Stone Sour, but this will be Slipknots first appearance at the festival, and arguably one of the most anticipated performances of the weekend. Godsmack were also on the Rebellion stage the first year and Rebels, I'm sure, are extremely happy to see them return with new music. Additional bands that will share the stages on Sunday include Slash with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators, the return of Breaking Benjamin (a band that I am personally ecstatic to see), Halestorm, The Pretty Reckless, In This Moment, Starset, Young Guns, and more.
In addition to the killer lineup, there's a new stage layout this year, as well as an additional Reverbnation Stage. This year will also cater to more food vendors, which ever Rebel should be aware of to keep their energy up for 2 whole days of rock.
