Arizona alt rockers Lydia were announced for the main support slot on The Early November’s headline tour back in March. But now, a few weeks into the tour, it’s playing out as more of a co-headline bill. Many of the bands fans came out for the show in Cambridge, MA on Sunday night including one man in the front row who claimed to have driven down 7 hours from Canada just to see the band play.
Lydia’s fans were in full throat during the band’s set. Especially on the fan favorite track “Devil” as fans called out the lyrics “happy are we /in our own world” which were very appropriate as for the 45 minutes the band were on stage, their fans were quite happy in their respective worlds. Another fan adored track “This is Twice Now” had positive fan reaction as some sang along, while others raised their phones to capture part of the song.
Before finishing their set, Lydia took a chance to look into the future, playing a yet unnamed track from their forthcoming album. The song was well received and met with excitement from Lydia fans that were not aware the band had been working on new material. The Lydia fans in attendance did a great job of making it feel as if the show were a co-headline bill. An encore chant even came up at the end of the set, but to no avail as the show was on a tight schedule.
