On the evening of Independence Day, 2015, a powerful and energized crowd of rock fans gathered into Jewel Nightclub in Manchester, NH for a highly anticipated night of solid music.
Locally known for killer performances, Sygnal to Noise and Anaria were among the local talented acts slated on the bill along side the national acts 3 Years Hollow, Soil, and Powerman5000. After getting warmed up by seven great opening acts, Powerman5000 took the stage and pumped up the crowd starting with a high energy, fist-pumping rendition of Super Villain’ followed up by ‘Invade Destroy Repeat’.
Powerman’s front man, Spider One, shared his love and respect for the people of New England during a break between songs. “The people are better here. The people are louder here. The people are stronger here!” Spider screamed to the packed house. The roar of the crowed transitioned into a song of the new album, “Builders Of The Future” called ‘How To Be A Human”. The classic synthesizer sound is prevalent and makes the track undeniably Powerman5000.
Following ‘Horror Show’ and ‘I Can’t F*cking Hear You’, Spider once again reminisced with the crowd about being from New England and how Rock and Roll is still alive and well. “All of you people are in here on the 4th of July and we are having our own fireworks!’, Spider yelled. That led straight into the video game classic hit ‘Bombshell’, which with the help of guitarist Nick Quijano, had the entire room bouncing and singing back to the band.
After a short break back stage, and the crowd screaming “Powerman” in unison, the band returned to the stage and instantly started playing the heavy, building track, ‘Supernova Goes Pop’. When the build up reached it maximum, ‘When Wolds Collide’, the most popular song from the band ended the night with a bang!
