The evening was a site not to be missed. Fans were waiting in a line that stretched more than 3 blocks, hours before doors opened to see their favorite band, Neon Trees. Die hard, creative minded fans, even made a neon balloon figure of front man Tyler Glenn, who graciously stepped off the tour bus and accepted the gift before the show.
As show time grew near, the energy at the Paradise was building in excitement. With each passing song played over the speaker system, more and more people started singing along with it, until the lights in the club went dark and a synchronized roar filled the room.
To the crowd’s delight, Neon Trees appeared as the room illuminated to the sounds of the latest single, ‘Songs I Can’t Listen To’. The setlist continued heavy with tracks off of the band’s debut album “Habits”, ‘Sins of My Youth’, ‘In the Next Room’, and ‘Animal’, just to name a few. Also featured on the night’s final tour date was, ‘Mad Love’, ‘Still Young’, as well as ‘Moving in The Dark’ off of the 2012 release, “Picture Show”.
The mood in the club was really being felt while ‘Sleeping With A Friend’ had a majority of people getting comfortable with each other’s company. Rounding out the night, popular hit ‘Everybody Talks’ kept the energy up, and just when the show appeared to be over, the band shocked fans with a fun and upbeat cover of Dexys Midnight Runners, ‘Come On Eileen’ sending the sweaty Boston crowd home with smiles on there faces.
