Metalcore giants The Devil Wears Prada are currently on tour in support of their new “Space” EP. Debuting at number 32 on the Billboard 200, and at number 2 on the US Independent Albums chart “Space” is tied with their 2010 EP “Zombie” for the bands highest charting release on the Independent Album Chart.
The group rolled into to Boston, MA at the House of Blues where The Devil Wears Prada turned it up to 11 for their fans. Prior to playing through the “Space” EP, the band ran through a few of their classics, including the ultra high octane “Assistant to the Regional Manager.”
The stage lighting changed drastically as the group launched into ‘Planet A,’ the first track of the Space EP. Projector lighting from the soundboard laid over white screens gave the atmosphere of something you’d see out of a planetarium rock show. Vocalist Mike Hranica was a force onstage all night long, playing guitar, jumping, getting the crowd involved and more. Hranica’s stage presence is a big part of what has made the group so successful so far. Drummer Daniel Williams led the percussive attack with his quick and precise drumming. The fans in attendance fed off the stage energy, mixing it up in the several mosh pits going throughout the venue.
After playing through “Space” and acknowledging that important step forward in the band’s growth, they launched back into older material such as “Danger:Wildman” and “Hey John, What’s Your Name Again?”
