After a long year of anticipation, Shiprocked Cruise set sail from Miami for it's (lucky) 7th voyage. The beautiful Norwegian Pearl quickly filled up with familiar smiling faces from years past, as friends greeted one another and band members hung out chatting to fans.
Halestorm took over the Monster Deck Stage to kick off the festivities as the Miami Harbor faded and the trek began to Costa Maya, Mexico. The commanding stage presence of drummer Arejay Hale and stunning vocals from frontwoman Lzzy Hale made for an unforgettable start to the week. Activities like the drunk spelling bee and VIP party kept things rolling before it was time for 10 Years to hit the deck. The Shiprocked alumni were greeted by a mass of fans as they rolled through hits like "Wasteland" and "Shoot it Out". The deck stage closed out with performances by Helmet and Nonpoint, but the fun didn't stop there.
Five Finger Death Punch played their first of two shows in a packed to the brim Stardust Theater. With a fresh new album out it was safe to say we were in for a killer time listening to "Jekyll and Hyde" and "Got Your Six" mixed in with old favorites like "American Capitalist" and of course, set closing "The Bleeding". The band slowed things down briefly with an acoustic medley, with Jason Hook on guitar while singer Ivan Moody showed off his powerful vocals. Moody jumped into the crowd to greet the fans and shake hands, never missing a note. While the early birds headed to bed exhausted, the partiers were far from done. WIth Peformances by the Dead Deads in the Atrium, karaoke, and a late night DJ set from DJ Lippy Rage.
