On Thursday October 20th, the Rise Up Tour featuring Like Moths to Flames, Silverstien as well as The Devil Wears Prada and Memphis May Fire rolled through Worcester, MA for a night filled with good old fashion metal and hardcore music.
First to take the stage was Like Moths to Flames, the band was very entertaining to watch and the crowd was into their sound. They started off their set with the song "Bury Your Pain" and the energy for the rest of the night from both the bands as well as the crowd was set.
Second to take the stage was Silverstien. With the expected high energy they bring to the table at any show they put on, the set started off with ‘Sacrifice’ and they also played a new song entitled ‘Ghost’ off of their new album due out by the end of 2016.
Seeing as this tour is a co-headlining one, this particular night The Devil Wears Prada went on before Memphis May Fire. From the minute lead singer Mike Hranica took the stage to the last note that was sung the crowd never lost its energy, neither did the band. The band played a great mix of both newer and older songs, and even some songs they admittedly don’t quite enjoy playing but it was obvious the entire set they played was designed for the fans as the fans knew the words to all the songs. The lighting was incredible as well. Mostly greens and orange lighting as well as white and red made it a fun set to photograph.
One thing that should be highlighted throughout both of the headliners sets was the LCD screens on stage. They played videos throughout both The Devil Wears Prada and Memphis May Fires sets that were very intriguing to watch and matched up with the song in which the band was playing at any given time.
Finally Memphis May Fire took the stage after the hour long The Devil Wears Prada set. The band started out with ‘Carry On’ and the crowd went wild and the first crowd surfers of the set appeared. Their set also spanned over the course of an hour and had some slower songs as well as the classic ‘Memphis May Fire’ vibe. They also played a brand new song from their new album set to be released at the end of October.
If this tour comes to your city, I would highly recommend going out and seeing it.
