Recently, The Breeders were back in Boston where the band originated to play a (sort-of) hometown show at House of Blues on Lansdowne St. Originally formed in 1989 by Kim Deal of Pixies and Tanya Donelly of Throwing Muses, the group quickly rose to prominence in alt rock scene of the 90's. In 1993 when Pixies went on hiatus, Deal pursued The Breeders as a full time project. To this day they are still known as one of the most popular bands with Boston roots.
