If you are even remotely present in the rock community, the name Nothing More has been buzzing in your ear for quite some time now. The band recently kicked off their biggest headlining run yet, and Phoenix were lucky enough to get the first taste.
Palisades got things rolling, getting everyone ramped up with singles “Let Down”, and their latest, “Erase the Pain”.
Nothing More have inspired many by partnering with TWLOHA (To Write Love on Her Arms) on this tour. Badflower were up next, and they spread their message beautifully. With a slew of tracks that touched upon many forms of mental illness, including “Ghost”, they were a perfect fit for this tour.
Of Mice & Men brought somewhat of a heavier element to the show. Adrenaline was running as they tore through a combination of old favorites and new hits, including current favorite “Would You Still Be There”
Finally, it was time for Nothing More to hit the stage. For those that have yet to see these guys live, there are no words to say other than ‘you had to be there’. This is a band that are truly passionate about their music and the messages that go along with it, and it shows. Frontman Jonny Hawkins literally climbed to the ceiling to kick things off, and from then out the energy remained just as high. From their incredibly unique drum solos, to Hawkins chilling vocals, to the intense bass, heavy guitars, and rocking beats, this band is one you do not want to miss.
For those that say rock is dead, Nothing More are doing everything in their power to prove that statement wrong. “Go To War” and “This is the Time” had the crowd going insane, and when it came to “Just Say When”, the Van Buren became a campfire singalong.
It is safe to say that this is a tour, and a band, that you do not want to miss out on.
