Being the first band on stage on any given night can be a tough task. Waking up a crowd without going over the top to overshadow the headliner is a juggling act. Recently, I had the chance to catch August Burns Red's 10th anniversary tour for their landmark record Constellations. The show's opening band, California metalcore outfit Silent Planet managed to blow me away. Quickly hyping up the crowd, with help from some hardcore fans of their own Silent Planet got the crowd moving with lead singer Garrett Russell even making a few trips into the crowd himself. Check out some visual evidence of the night's action below with images from Silent Planet, August Burns Red, and Silverstein.
