One week after the release of their newest album "The Stories We Tell Ourselves," Nothing More told their story to a sold out crowd at The Underground in Charlotte, NC. Currently considered one of the most energetic live bands out there right now, they certainly didn’t disappoint with amount of running around, crowd interaction, and stage diving that took place. The crowd gave the energy right back, given the number of crowd surfers they had throughout the set and the deafening sound of the voices singing the songs. The setlist consisted of songs from their second and latest albums, as well as their classic closer of “Salem (Burn the Witch)” from their very first album. They performed a mix of their heavier, grungier songs, as well as some softer, slower ones showing off their wide range of abilities.
As always, the band showed off their uniqueness during their Bass solo, where they prop a bass up on the “Bassinator” and singer Jonny Hawkins, guitarist Mark Vollelunga, and bassist Daniel Oliver jam out while Ben Anderson adds to it on the drums. This isn’t the only thing they do to show off their originality, but I won’t tell you what else they’ve got up their sleeves so I don’t spoil the fun for you when you go see them yourselves!
Supporting acts for the show were My Ticket Home, Hell or Highwater, and Palisades who all put on stellar performances and kept the energy up the entire night.
The band has more tour dates across the country before they head over to Europe, but if you can’t make it this time around, they mentioned that they would be coming back around early next year, so be sure to be on the lookout for those dates! They are a band that you don’t want to miss!
