New York by way of Denton, TX garage rock group Parquet Courts are a full six albums into their career, only eight years after first becoming a band. Their latest effort, Wide Awake! just came out this past weekend, it's an album that was put together in a speedy few months, recorded with legendary producer Danger Mouse. Parquet Courts front-man A. Savage says of the collaboration "I personally liked the fact that I was writing a record that indebted to punk and funk, and Brian’s a pop producer who’s made some very polished records. I liked that it didn’t make sense."
Parquet Courts are well known for working fast when it comes to their music, in 2014 they released two separate full length albums. Pitchfork called their latest album, "straightforward but alien, simple but endlessly referential."
Parquet Courts kick off the next leg of their US Tour at Royale in Boston on Wednesday, May 23rd. Tickets start at $18 and are available HERE.
